I was amazed at how many people were absolutely bonkers for them! Quite a few tapers, too. Minutes prior to Buffalo Springfield, people were looking at weather predictions on the internet, and there were supposed to be some thunder showers. Some smart alleck yelled, "I want Neil Young in my mouth," shortly after they took the stage, hence the title of the first track. And the predictions were correct, it began raining during Rock and Roll Woman lightly and the sky spat until Go and Say Goodbye, I think. There were also a handful of lightning bolts, listen closely and you might hear them. There were a few beach balls being served and tossed around, and the biggest one landed onstage during Go And Say Goodbye. In perfect time with the music, Neil Young kicked it off the stage, and the crowd cheered. Neil appeared to be 'milking' a light beer during the show, had his Harley Davidson guitar control pedal with him and wore an old white t-shirt with a neck that was beginning to frey. He and Richie seemed to be delighted to be playing at Bonnaroo. Neil mentioned it was the biggest crowd they ever played for. This was evidently their last show ever. Stephen Stills didn't say anything as far as I can tell. After I Am A Child, Neil had some fun with the crowd and the word Bonnaroo. "We'll be back with more of that." See images... The sound was pretty good, as with most of the acts I saw at Bonnaroo. This was my second time seeing Neil Young and Stephen Stills, but not together. Aside from a bit of rain, it was an awesome show, and maybe they can't sing as high anymore (more than one meaning, I don't know) but they wrote these songs and gave 'em their best shot. This show brought out people mostly 30 and older, and with Eminem starting towards the end of their set, it was a good sized crowd but not as big as Mumford and Sons had attracted earlier. This band was one of the few that drove me to go to the festival, and I was not dissapointed. After Buffalo Springfield, I kept my recorder going and walked to the What Stage and recorded Eminem with the remaining tape on that side. A couple weeks after I got home, I discovered one of the several tapers released their 10' high digital recording. It's pretty good, however I'm glad I was there recording too. I like my version a bit better. Recording onto the Sony type IV metal bias tapes resulted in a nicely detailed recording. My mics were at about 6' for this show, and I didn't pick up any wind rumbles (or rain drips) at all. Unfortunately some idiotic douchebag photographer starts yelling during Burned from the centre moat. Talk about full of himself. The chick in front of me screams at him and the weasel screwed off. Only lasts a few seconds, and it may be funny, or annoying depending how you look at it. Ironic for that to occur during a song named Burned. fingerprints: 00 - I Want Neil Young In My Mouth.flac:b687b1c8bd7e636b7bca4a24f372a07a 01 - On The Way Home.flac:b83fbb941a71998f10dd87c83a93f563 02 - Rock and Roll Woman.flac:9742b86e87987721eec43a77e8a767af 03 - Burned.flac:2a994dc8d0b37f777fff0da3aaffeced 04 - A Child's Claim to Fame.flac:5e4307416e60161156dab1932f1845c8 05 - Do I Have To Come Right Out.flac:7ed7b3c2bc092f25f30e05f8da61adf2 06 - Go and Say Goodbye.flac:1148ec08e5aa9f7acdcf1c837be59f7b 07 - I Am A Child.flac:2fa86ec369f45ef7bb049bee30b1503b 08 - Hot Dusty Roads.flac:e4fc791ccb784917af7259322b2686db 09 - Kind Woman.flac:48d0734f98e3fd9f3f4120f9312226f9 10 - Mr. Soul.flac:16262bf7c648c6f67b3da442a9f145bf 11 - Nowadays Clancy Can't Sing.flac:c1f5d90c3f2fde0daf2afc7ed5d89433 12 - Bluebird.flac:1d1ac48a046b6d636999b5e0923a443e 13 - Sad Memory.flac:32aa0f81386505da221c526522c0deac 14 - Broken Arrow.flac:71028781672df37417a1c1265bafec80 15 - For What It's Worth.flac:fb81359711103bf533aa4565a599fe2b 16 - Rockin' In The Freeworld.flac:7f309b8336f60bb9e1fbe74acfcc69a0
