CROSBY, STILLS, NASH & YOUNG August 8, 2006 Sound Advice Amphitheater - West Palm Beach, FL Source: Edirol R09 (internal mics) > PC > EAC (track markers & normalization) > FLAC Frontend > FLAC Artwork included. The traffic getting into the parking area of Sound Advice Amphitheater was terrible and there were still lines of cars entering when CSNY took the stage promptly at 7:30 PM. Many of the folks were questioning why they didn't start later since they must have been aware of the lines of traffic still entering. As a result, this recording is missing the first 2 1/2 songs (Flags of Freedom, Carry On, Wooden Ships joined in progress). Also, due to "event staff" right next to my aisle seat I relied upon the Edirol R-09's internal mics. They didn't do as well as my SP mics but the sound is not that bad. A problem with Amphitheaters...when people can bring food and beer back to their seats it creates lots of movement and chatter...especially when recording from right next to the aisle. CSNY had a week off prior to this show and it shows in the strength of thier voices (especially Stephen's). Since I have yet to see a different recording of this show surface I'm putting it up for mass consumption mainly because it's such an excellent performance!
