Started with Peggy Youngs opening, which for me was a drag. With a band that solid behind her, I had much higher expectations. Neil went on next by himself. He played his first set alone on guitar, harmonica, and keys/organ. As usual he can captivate an audience, at points you can hear a pin drop, which is amazing considering the size (maybe 4500?). On the other hand I had loud clapper and mumble buddies sitting hear me, so they pop in here and there. I -3db some clapping on the fist disc. Not sure which is worse, screaming 'play Freebird', or the fact that everyone thought that was still funny enough to laugh! Neil finished his solo set and took a 25 minute break (as the ominous voice above announced to us. Still most people who went for a smoke and a beer were late, so lots of idiots showing up late to both sets. Kind of an annoyed and agressive crowd, as exampled by the 'Sit Down' yelled at a late couple by another late dude who had just moments before been same late asshole. Second set began, some good rockin toons for sure. Everyone/Nowhere always one of my faves, but No Hidden Path was easily the song of the night, timing in at 20 mins. Encores were as expected, but capped off a great night! Enjoy!! -Basshead
